An employer and employee both have a role to play and this is the reason why employees should not feel timid toward their bosses.
Bosses usually expect hard work, proficiency, honesty and reliability from their employees and they should be willing to give the same. One of the things that employers should be consistent about is the pattern of pay. When one signs a contract after they are employed, it will include the pattern of pay and this is what one should expect from an employer. Employees should check their contracts because this will have the manner in which they’re supposed to be paid whether it is monthly, weekly or every fortnight. Sick pay and commission work are some of the things that people should talk about with their employer before taking a job. If one discusses with their employer about this from the beginning, there will be no mix up when the issues arise. Employees can check whether their employers are making consistent payments by creating pay stubs. Pay stubs can be used as evidence by an employer to show their employees that they have made payments on salaries and wages. Employers may sometimes make payments late for a day or two but it should not become a habit.
Employees may have an unfair workload that is inconsistent. Some of the instances where one may experience an inconsistent workload is when other employees are sick or they have been assigned other jobs. If these situations happen often to an employee, that employee needs to demand consistency on their workload. To address the situation, an employee should talk more about it with a boss.
If a superior does not lighten one’s workload, one can complain to the human resource department about this issue.
If one is planning to go to the human resource department, they should take evidence of the unfair treatment in the workplace.
